Agility Classes
We have classes for all levels of agility and experience, from beginner to competition level. We run small classes, typically 4 dogs – 6 at the most, so that everyone gets plenty of time "on course".
Foundation Classes
These are the starting point where you'll be introduced to basic agility equipment such as tunnels and jumps, your dog will have some toy play to help with drive and confidence, experience walking on different surfaces, and use wobble boards and cushions ‐ all designed to build up their confidence. You will learn tricks to get and keep your dog's focus ‐ useful in the real world as well as on the agility course. As you and your dog progress you'll move on to using more of the equipment.
Next Step Classes
Our Next Step Classes are where you start to look at some of the technical aspects in more detail, such as contact area and weaves, and you'll start learning course analysis and positioning while handling your dog.
Competition Classes
All grades of dogs run in our Competition Classes where we look at handling, positioning, course analysis, turns, etc. in more detail; the exercises are adjusted to suit different experience levels.
As you progress in these classes you'll learn how to assess the best lines for your dog to take while negotiating the course and trust your dog's ability to commit to jumps or obstacles, whilst getting yourself in the best position to handle the next sequence.
We'll often run full courses, discuss the lines your dog can take and which is likely to be best for them and why. Then we'll usually run the course a couple of ways to see which suits your dog the best. This will also highlight areas we need to train for to increase your abilities to handle things differently.
